26th EBMS Health & Business Symposium set for July 23-25

June 12th, 2019

Engaging speakers, valuable networking and lots of Montana fun are in store for attendees of the 26th annual Health & Business Symposium set for July 23-25, 2019, at the DoubleTree By Hilton Hotel in Billings.

The Symposium will feature presentations from several thought leaders who will offer their perspectives on the rapid changes in the healthcare industry – technological innovations, reform initiatives and efforts to curb rising costs. Advancements and trends in benefit-plan administration will also be discussed.

The keynote speaker for the Symposium is author and humorist Greg Schwem, described by the HuffPost as “Your boss’ favorite comedian.”

Schwem’s comedic take on the 21st century workplace and work/life balance has earned him airtime on Sirius Radio, Fox News and Comedy Central and coverage in Parent Magazine. He is a best-selling author and nationally syndicated humor columnist for the Chicago Tribune.

Other speakers include:

  • Danny Toth, principal of Timber Ridge Consultants, LLC. Toth is a pharmacist and former PBM CEO who now help employers manage quality and cost within their PBM relationships.
  • Bill Lazarus, Ph.D., founder and CEO of Seer Analytics, LLC. Lazarus is a quantitative social scientist with an interest in helping non-technical business users improve performance through the application of advanced analytics.
  • Dr. Andrew Murray, chief medical officer for EBMS and president of its miCare and miRx healthcare solutions. Murray is an accomplished physician executive with deep industry experience. Before joining EBMS, he held senior leadership roles with CareAllies (a Cigna-owned startup) and Discovery Health.

Jeff Ewelt, executive director of ZooMontana will serve as Symposium emcee and will bring some of his animal friends to educate and entertain the audience.

The Symposium will again provide several opportunities for industry networking, from the welcoming reception at the Moss Mansion on Tuesday evening, through the day of presentations and a Petroleum Club dinner Wednesday, to Thursday’s golf tourney, whitewater rafting adventure or woodburning cutting board class.

Representatives from several companies will again attend the Symposium to showcase their products and services to attendees. This year’s Titanium Sponsor is Larson Family Properties.
