Failure to submit your NPI in the correct loops may cause your claim to be paid incorrectly.

Professional Claims: The Billing Provider's NPI must be reported in the 2010AA NM109. The Rendering Provider's NPI is reported in the 2310B NM109.

Institutional Claims: The Billing Provider's NPI must be reported in 2010AA NM109. The attending, operating or other physicians should be identified in the 2310A b and C loops respectively.
